I have studied and researched digital technologies and artificial intelligence for 40+ years since my studies at Helsinki University of Technology (nowadays Aalto University) in the 1970s. I worked with machine vision for sawmills at Decon Oy and as Research Professor and manager at VTT within media technologies and digital services. I am now operating my own company NextAI.

I have given 100+ presentations to local and international audiences during my career. One recent was “AI- möjligheter och utmaningar” for Pargas Rotary klubb 8.11.2024.
I have altogether 291 publications. See complete list in ORCID. The latest are about generative AI for developing novel biomaterials with superior speed.
My whole work career has been about Digital Technologies, much of which is now called Artificial intelligence. I have worked within Big Data technologies as well as media and collaborative AI.
